I was 13 years old when I got my first 35mm camera, a Nikkormat ftn, as a gift from my Grandmother. Thank You, Mama!
I learned to process & print in a high-school photo-astronomy course. Thanx, Mr. Sklar! I built a darkroom in the basement bathroom and spent many a night developing prints of star trails & rock concerts. I loved shooting landscapes, nature, & sports, too. Of course, I was the de facto family photographer.
I studied at The Maryland Institute College of Art, in Baltimore. My first photography job was as an assistant to the preeminent, dance studio photographer, Bil Walker, who, I'm thrilled to say, is still clicking his shutter at the restored age of 86. Thank You, Bil!
I was the staff photographer and a writer for Dynamic Diversions, an adventure destination travel agency. In 1983, I moved to New York City, to start up a manufacturing business in the Garment Industry. I've been shooting fashion, ever since. Thanks Mom! Over the years, our business has evolved into a retail operation designing custom clothing for women, with locations in New York & Boca Raton.
In 2007, I moved to South Florida with my wife and newborn daughter to start a new life. Hello Kylie! Thank you Miko! In 2009, we had a son. Welcome to Planet Earth, Issey! Mya, my Baby Girl, joined us in 2011.
Several thousand pix later, I discovered how much I enjoyed photographing the family and how satisfying it is to share our life & have it a recorded for posterity.
In 2012, I opened my new organic photo studio. No backdrops here! Located within the confines of The Girls U-Pick Strawberry Patch in Delray Beach, Florida, you'll find a hidden paradise. You'll enter a quaint country store and exit through the back door into a world of wonder. As you pass the Koi pond, you begin to hear the squawking of exotic birds, while walking down the path into a forest of fruit trees. Turn left and you'll be in my studio, where my focus will be on capturing & documenting those memorable moments & special events in your life, while helping you to share these images with friends & family.
